Into the darkness she reached,
To take the hand of a friend.
And out of the darkness came
A monster she didn’t understand.
He told her she was his for the night,
And she screamed.
Only to be silenced by her monster.
He feasted upon her fear,
And let the hatred flow
Raping her of her innocence.
After that night she lived each day,
Afraid of the boughs of the trees
Reaching endlessly towards her,
Wanting her for their pleasure.
She feared herself,
And in that,
Feared the world,
She couldn’t take it anymore.
Then one night,
She took a stand
Against her monster.
And vowed to never
Misunderstand the darkness.
