0111 I’m Free [26 October 1997]

Chorus: I’m free.
From tyranny.
I’m free,
From hatred.
I’m free
From racism.
Oh, I am free.

Was it only
A few decades ago,
When people fought
For their freedom?

Was it only
A few days ago,
When man hated man
For his color?

Until one day,
A man stood tall.
And people that were different
Had a champion.

Chorus

This one man,
Always had a purpose.
And it always
Was for good.

Yet why was he taken from us
And we were left alone
To stand on our own.

Then we knew the answer
To this unspoken question
Of why we are here
And why we are different.

It was because it was normal,
And God had deemed it to be that way.

Chorus

And now we know,
The reason why,
We had to stand on our own.

Chorus: repeat until fade.
