0169 Phoenix [27 January 1998]

Rising,
Above the burning pit,
The great bird dives
To her death.

Reborn,
She arises
Splendid
In youth,
Bright
In her birth.

For a millennia,
She lives her life,
Alone,
Is the life she lives.

With no mate,
One must wonder
How lonely
Does this magnificent get?

Living a thousand years alone,
How she must despair,
Until death
Brings her youth back.
