0188 Forget Not [01 April 1998]

Author’s Note: Another poem for the family friend that passed away at this time in my history.

Tears will come,
though they fade with time
as does the sorrow and sadness
disappear with time.

Forget not the memories,
the laughter,
the good times,
the friendship.

Death comes
at the worst of times.
For death has no schedule,
even so, you can let go.

The death we experience
will fade in color,
though it shall always remain
the reminder we need.

Do not forget the man,
only do the pain.
The shining memories
shall last forever.
