Long ago, far away,
Lived a land ruled by tyranny.
The people lived in fear day by day,
Afraid of the king that led evil.
So they sent a man,
In search of a hero,
To save their traditions,
And free their people.
He went away, far away,
Seeking the hero that was prophesied.
Instead of a warrior, strong and true,
He found a woman, proud and brave.
She brandished armor silver as sunlight,
A sword etched with legends,
Of the warriors before her
Who had won true.
He frowned in prejudice
Against a womanly warrior
But when she saved his life,
He believed her power.
So he came home,
Proud, happy to be home.
He presented his champion
To those who met in secret.
At first they turned their backs
Afraid of change
Afraid of her,
Whose strength equaled a man’s.
Even though they turned their backs,
She fought their war
And won the day
Turning away the tyrant king.
The people changed for their hero,
And raised her to the champion’s chair.
They accepted her as one of their own
And renamed her as heroine.
