The oceans of our beliefs
Sometimes drown out the world around us.
The waters close over our heads
And we are left gasping for air.

But compromise is always a good thing,
The oceans give us dreams and expectations.
The world gives us freedom to see,
We are taught to live in peace.

Fate is another factor
That applies to compromise.
It changes our lives in subtle ways,
Making us deal with it and learn.

One thing I have learned
Is that objects are not
The foundation of yourself.
You are who you are, no matter what.

Do not worry,
If suddenly life gives you a challenge.
Learn from it,
As we must learn from the oceans in our world.
