321 Breathe [01 July 2000]

A fear of the unknown trembles
beneath this skin of mine.
I hold my breath awaiting your entrance,
seeing through hungry eyes that have waited millennia
to see you standing there and I breathe.
The breath of life that flows from my body,
that cools heat, warms cold.
I walk up to you and you smile down at me,
that movement of mouth causing my heart to leap.
I feel your breath upon my brow
as we stand looking at each other
I try to impart all I’m feeling into my eyes.
I see all you feel in those pools of eternity of yours.
We move together slowly,
like the lands surrounding us,
dancing to a slow rhythm thousand of ages old.
I feel the soft breeze of your breath
flow gently across my bare shoulders,
moving over the back of my neck.
I breathe into your chest moving toward your face.
As night falls draping its thick cloak across the world,
the winds of our combined breath increase their power,
faster and hotter as they crash and mingle,
to create a storm survived only by us.
