Have you ever looked at someone,
wondering if that person you see
is someone you could love?
Wondered
at their soul. . .
their past. . .
Wanted to feel their arms
tight around you. . .
Closed your eyes and seen theirs,
whatever color they may be,
staring back at you with love shining in them?
Wanted to feel them close,
know the smile that crosses their lips.
To breathe in and know their scent,
to recognize them with every sense your body has.
To touch them and know them,
to sleep next to them and wake next to them.
I have. . .
I’ve seen faces that make me
wonder what lies beneath that social façade.
I have wondered. . .
but have never found the one I seek.
