waiting for me

and then I knew
that it had been me
who had waited so long
for you to come
life without you
I cannot conceive of
you are my everything
the air I breathe
the songs I hear within my mind
i’ll never be the same

and then you said
that you had needed me
as much as I needed you
you had feared
that I wouldn’t want you
i’d turn you away
you told me you had loved me
for so long
that all your hopes
all your dreams
were complete with me
