in my mind
there do you reside
I know that one day
you’ll appear beside me
as real as flesh can be
I look up to the sky
every night
searching for a glimmer of you
among the heavens
seeking a sign
that will lead me to you
perhaps I’m too romantic
or not romantic enough
but my poetry speaks for itself
every morning
you cross my mind
I wonder where you could be
at that moment of thought
when I am not occupied
those times do I gaze
into the distance
imagining you here
I cannot give up hope
for my hungered soul
my deprived heart
will never let me
until you walk into my life
