religion is a crock
they ask you to believe
even love a man
who may have lived
who may have existed
they ask you to believe
that all the earth’s children
were born of two
talk about serious inbreeding!
so how is it that from two white people
the gorgeous dark-skinned Africans
came into being?
or the exotic olive-complected Asians
developed in the Far East?
because the first two
are portrayed as white
or European in every portrait
every imagining made of them?
no, the earth was created long ago
with guidance from a Creator
that seeks no high status
who doesn’t send his ministers out
to destroy those who would love
the earth and not themselves
and certainly not some God
who says that if you believe
in anything else
to the hells of Lucifer you shall go
no.
Earth is our mother, father, sibling
she feeds us from her breast
when we are hungry
he teaches us his ways
when we need to learn
and a sibling who comforts us when
a shoulder is needed
Earth is and forever will be
our family
Earth is all we’ll ever need
as long as we believe
in ourselves
