592 Passed By [10 February 2004]

Here do I sit,
alone,
in a café
by a road populated often.
All manner of vehicle pass by,
almost as if passing me by.
Alone.
I am solitary, stationary.
Eyes taking in the sights.
An uneasy peace has descended
upon my mind and soul.
A quiet wrought with doubt,
Wondering if I can focus
on the scholarly road ahead.
The answer does elude me,
yet I will try,
for this peace is strange.
Knowing my path
sure of the lack of romance
on this road.
Still, plodding on,
moving.
Accepting my fate
and knowing,
that should I choose to,
I can change it.
