She fades away in darkness
Her heart locked away
In a steel cage
She awakes each morning
Never able to see the sun
She forgets what warmth was
And looks past the gazes
Of those who might be
For only one did she want
Though he would never want her.
So she turns her face
Hides her tears.
No one knows the pain
No one ever will
For as fate will have it,
She is once more
Alone.
She turns her eyes to the night
Living in the sweet black
Her solitude happy
Only when the moon or the stars
Shine down upon her
Returning to her a sort of substitute.
If she cannot feel the sun,
Then perhaps the twilight
Will give her some relief.
