The sunburst in my chest
warms and tingles all the way to my toes,
flowing golden through to my fingertips.
It feels like all the possibilities, probabilities
are all falling in line,
that something bright and beautiful
awaits me over that next horizon.
That the things I regret,
have been laid to a quiet, peace-filled rest.
It feels like waking in a sun-filled room,
restful, comfortable, without being blinded by the light.
Like walking in a forest after the rain,
the senses wild with the life around you.
I can breathe again
after so long drowning.
