For some time now,
Night has been my companion.
And day,
Has been my friend always.
As often in time,
Day is a quick friend.
Quick to rise,
Quick to set.
Because of this,
Day goes quickly by,
Turning one
Into many.
For some time now,
Night has been slow.
I revel in its solitude,
Its silence.
Without the daily blazing
Of the sun,
Night stretches on and on,
Not even the silvery moon tells time.
One equals solitude,
The other society.
The darkness is the calm,
The light is the city.
Which should we
Hold on to?
Neither is wrong,
Both aid us to survive.
